Update 11:15pm - We are still here! Wellington City Mayor Celia Wade-Brown popped in this afternoon, after opening Diwali celebrations at Frank Kitt’s Park, and expressed her support for the occupation. Happy revellers from Diwali and the rugby fanzone have passed through, and joined the drumming and dancing. Together, we are all the 99%, and we can make a society that works for everyone.
Kia ora koutou
As of Sunday afternoon, the occupation continues down at Civic square. Consensus is that we will stay for another night, and have another assembly in the morning to make a democratic decision about what happens from there. Join us! Whether for a quick visit or an afternoon, or to set up camp with us.
We will be posting updates, including notes from our general assemblies (which we aim to have twice a day – morning and night), and requests for resources (food, equipment, help etc), using this blog.
